Even as a child I could see the inherent superficiality and absurdity of the teachings. Firstly they used persuasion and then they told me to defer to the 'word'. When this didn't work they beat with sticks. This stopped when I became 6 foot three at 17. From my experience I'm not a fan of religion. Although I have just psychological cause to be an atheist, this is not the reason for my non-belief. I am a rational atheist and consider the concept of theism logically impossible and incoherent.Flaxen Saxonhttp://flaxonsaxonblogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3729674823895661245.post-11533609839335436512014-12-27T05:24:00.000-08:002014-12-27T05:24:00.000-08:00That's one are of religion in which I'm ha...That's one are of religion in which I'm happy to say that I've have no involvement. All religion is nonsense but it's astonishing how deeply people hold on to parts of the belief, even when the rest have fallen away. As you say, theism is logically impossible for so many reasons but logic has no use in this world. If a film as bad as 'The Interview' can be so damn popular, then there's no accounting for how stupid people can be or become.David Waywellnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3729674823895661245.post-2656249572146826352014-12-31T08:41:12.000-08:002014-12-31T08:41:12.000-08:00[…] me by, though i enjoy all the Glühwein and glu...[…] me by, though i enjoy all the Glühwein and gluttony and whores. Likewise most Waywells struggle with seeing people in fancy dress, such as police officers, postmen, prison officers, to us they are just people acting out a part and we tend to see the uniform and think that in reality these actors are fellow human beings playing some bazaar part.Chris Waywellnoreply@blogger.com
